Synopsis: Jack Worthing has a secret. He has invented a troublesome “brother” named Earnest so he can slip away to London, where he spends time with his charming and sharp-tongued friend Algernon Moncrieff. During these trips, Jack has also fallen deeply for Algernon’s cousin, Gwendolen Fairfax. Gwendolen is confident, romantic, and absolutely devoted to the idea that she must marry a man named Earnest. When Lady Bracknell demands proof of Jack’s parentage, everything becomes much more complicated.

Back in the country, Jack discovers that Algernon has arrived pretending to be the same Earnest and has instantly fallen for Jack’s ward, Cecily. Cecily is imaginative, spirited, and already infatuated with the mysterious brother she has never met. When Lady Bracknell *AND* Gwendolen show up, the situation erupts into hilarious chaos as secrets unravel, identities collide, and long-lost truths come to light.
