Please fill out and submit our online audition form on TheaterForms and make an appointment for your audition. Have your calendar handy and be prepared to enter rehearsal conflicts. You will be asked to upload a headshot and a theatrical résumé if you have one. If you don’t have either of these files you can still submit the form.

Auditions are open to anyone ages 16 and up except in the instance of Young Shrek/Baby Bear, Young/Teen Fionas and Grumpy which are open to ages 7 and up. Roles and suggested age ranges are posted on the audition sign up form.

Time and Place

Auditions are by appointment only on March 8 and 9, 2025, with callbacks on March 10. Please sign up for an audition slot. Please be prepared to be at auditions for 45 minutes. Auditions will be held at the Longview Community Center. Please enter through the front doors on Whaley Street.

Please take note of your audition time and arrive 10 minutes early for the audition. 

What to Prepare

Music: Please come prepared to sing a 1 minute excerpt from any Broadway song (songs from Shrek are ok, or any other Broadway musical) that you feel comfortable singing and that showcases your voice. You may bring sheet music for our accompanist for songs that are not in Shrek (we have the Shrek music), or provide a karaoke track. A cappella auditions are discouraged.

Dance: A short FUN dance sequence will be taught at auditions to see how you move. A dance tutorial video of what will be taught will be posted on our website soon. Don’t be intimidated by this! We may ask some actors to learn a second short dance sequence for callbacks and will provide more information at that time. 

Acting: We will have you do some readings from the script at auditions. View the sides you may be asked to read at auditions HERE. You may be asked to read for roles you may not have listed as preferred roles. 

Attire: Please wear audition appropriate attire (business casual), but remember there will be dancing so wear or bring shoes you can move in.
